575MW GSU transformer installation and assembly
The Armstrong Power, LLC plant is located in Shelocta, Pennsylvania. The Plant consists of four General Electric 7FA simple-cycle combustion turbine generators. Five diesel generator units were installed in a building located between existing units. Interfaces were installed between existing infrastructure and 4160V power generated by the new diesel generators, 480V auxiliary loads, fuel oil supply, fire water supply, switchgear DC power, and controls for the Facility.
Electrical Construction started in January 2015 and completed 7 months later. DPC was responsible for the installation of all of the project electrical, underground piping, setting of 5 Diesel Generators, and Fire Protection. 85,000 feet of cable was pulled.
The Black Run facility is a gathering and loading site for EnLink Midstream; crude oil and condensate are transferred from site via rail car. Similar to the Bells Run flare project, the Black Run project was a John Zink design. DPC installed all owner furnished equipment, associated piping, and electrical requirements. DPC integrated all instrumentation and control needs throughout the site, interlocking a variety of different vendor equipment in a local HMI for control of the flare system.
In conjunction with Hendrix Wire and Cable Company, DPC completed the construction of an EPC electric distribution project in an existing residential community on the east side of Columbus. The project included 4,000 ft of spacer cable, replacement of 21 poles, and the transfer of 45 residential services to new Hendrix spacer cable. Ultimately, the project improved the reliability of electricity for hundreds of homes served by the circuit.
DPC is worked with AEP, The Perry Group and Babcock and Wilcox to convert the AEP Clinch River power plant from coal to natural gas. DPC installed several facets of the mechanical and electrical installation, including the main feed that supplies gas to the 2 converted units.
DPC self-performed the pipe fabrication and mechanical installation of the Barnesville West Compressor Station. The project included the installation of six Caterpillar G3608 Compressor Engines, numerous process skids, towers, and vessels, and over 25,000 LF of piping within a 6 month construction schedule.
DPC has performed multiple scopes of work for Memorial Health Systems since the 1990’s. These projects have ranged from a $2.3mm ER and OR expansion (2004) to a $350,000 OR reconstruction at their Selby Campus Facility. Our scope on these projects has included various degrees of medium voltage distribution, life safety, critical systems and medical grade general distribution.
